Introduction
In 2020, CSL Consulting lacked an in-house marketer to manage proposals and other marketing activities. With the opportunity to bid on several large projects, they contracted FortisOBM for proposal development, resulting in multiple wins on projects in different markets serving new clients.

Challenge 1: Lack of Resources for Proposal Development
Without an in-house marketer, CSL struggled to respond to proposal and qualification requests from public and private sector clientele. They had opportunities to bid on a large, million+ square foot campus development project and numerous higher ed and life science projects, amongst others, but did not have the resources to put the proposals together.
Solution: Referred by connections in the industry, FortisOBM was hired to support proposal development. FortisOBM helped CSL Consulting establish a strategy to incorporate more relevant and high-quality content about the firm in their proposal marketing material.
Outcome: CSL Consulting won projects within the first couple of months, representing a variety of markets and securing new clients.

CSL Consulting’s leadership juggled marketing efforts in addition to managing operations, hiring, and business development, leaving them stretched thin. By necessity, marketing was squeezed into the leftover hours of the week rather than receiving priority attention.
